The IBM System/23 Datamaster is an 8085-based personal computer designed for business, programmed in BASIC, and requiring little specialist attention for installation or operation. It's announcement was nearly contemporaneous with the IBM PC announcement.

The following photos are of the insides of one of my S/23 model 5322 units, which is undergoing repair as of this writing.

A forum page I found lists a few house number -> normal number mappings for some of the ICs in an IBM DisplayWriter, and the list overlaps this machine (unsurprising, since the designs are related). The page is here, and the list of mappings found there is:

4178615
8085 CPU
4178628
8255A-5 parallel port.
8493077
8086 CPU
4178619
8251A USART
4178617
8257-5 DMA controller
4178623
8259A programmable interrupt controller
4178625
8253-5 programmable interval timer

A far more extensive list of IBM IC house numbers is in the Displaywriter section of Bitsavers.

Some documentation for these beasts is available in the S/23 section of Bitsavers.
